There are various so called snoring remedies on the market today. Some of them do actually work for some snorers but most are little more than gimmicks. Snoring exercises on the other hand, strengthen the muscles around the throat and jaw and are a more lasting solution for snorers.

So what is snoring and why are so many people desperate to stop? Snoring is the vibration of the soft tissues around the throat area. Snoring can be mild or serious. The most serious type is called sleep apnea which causes people to stop breathing for a short while. One cause of snoring is OSA, OSA is a form of sleep apnea where there is a physical obstruction to the airways. This condition is more likely to happen to obese people, but people who have congenital abnormalities of the upper airways could also get OSA. For an example, enlarged adenoids can cause disturbance on your breathing. If you left OSA or Obstructive Sleep Apnea untreated, this condition can cause serious complications such as lung failure and also can also cause abnormalities to your heart.

Snoring as you might know, happens when you breathing either through your nose or your mouth and the air run through your throat passing soft tissue in your throat on its way to your lungs. Inside your throat, there are soft tissue that is collapsible. The airway for the air that you inhale to pass through can get disturbed if this area collapse. The narrowed airway where the air flows cause the soft tissue inside your throat to vibrate and this is the cause for snoring.

To cure your snoring, you can perform some stop snoring exercises. Stretch out your tongue as far as you can. It is important not to overdo it and try to keep it straight. After that move your tongue all the way to the left side and then move it again all the way to the right side of your mouth. For a better results, do this 10 – 20 times.

Perform exercises to strengthen your facial muscles by performing resistance training with your tongue. For this exercise you need a spoon, you will use the spoon by pushing it against your tongue. For this training you should let your tongue win. Do this exercise for 2 minutes.

Another solution for your snoring problem is by using stop snoring products or aids. CPAP is one of stop snoring aids, CPAP stands for Continuous Positive Air Pressure. CPAP is a breathing machine specially designed for keeping your airways open while you are sleeping. This device looks like an air blower. The functioned of this device is similar to an air blower, but equipped with settings and other attachments designed as an anti snoring device.

Chin strap are one of the stop snoring aids that is very effective on keeping your mouth shut while you are sleeping. By using chin strap and chin cushion, you can prevent several types of snoring. The function of these devices is to help people who snore through their mouth to breathe using their nose. Many causes of snoring can be avoided only by changing mouth breathing to nasal breathing.

One of the reasons why you are snoring is because when you sleep your jaw is not supported properly, this makes your throat receive a lot of pressure and this disturbed your breathing. When you are breathing, the sound of air moving through your throat is making a terrible sound.
